Joined British Service in the King’s German Legion with temporary
rank in the army 1803: Major 1st Line Battalion 1803, Lieutenant Colonel
1st Line Battalion 1805, on retired list 1810-1812, Lieutenant Colonel
1st Light Battalion 1812-1813, permanent rank in the British Army 1812,
Brevet Colonel 1813.
Early Service: Flanders 1793-1795 and wounded, Hanover 1805,
Sicily 1806-1807, Baltic 1807 and prisoner of war 1807-1808, Baltic
1808.
Peninsular War: with his regiment 1813-1814.
Other Service: commanded 2nd KGL Brigade in the Netherlands 1814-1815.
Commanded 2nd KGL Brigade France and Flanders 1815. Killed
in action at Waterloo 1815.
